Green building is at the core of our building. It is in our nature. When we took on Pringle Creek Community as a development that no one thought would be successful, we were up to the challenge. Our belief is that we could do it. Because we always build above code on all our homes. The difference is that we had to jump through the extra hoops that require the certification. We agreed with the previous builder that our aim would be to achieve a minimum of Gold-certification which we were happy to do. And we did. We are pleased to announce that our efforts have paid off and we received the first set of LEED Gold-certified homes in Pringle Creek.

What is LEED?
According the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), LEED is short for (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). LEED is a building “LEED provides a framework for healthy, highly efficient, and cost-saving green buildings. LEED certification is a globally recognized symbol of sustainability achievement and leadership.” When you hear LEED, you should hear green building. Any building that is certified green requires certification to meet standards that reduce the carbon footprint of the home. This includes everything from electricity and water consumption to the distance from accessible transportation like airports, train stations, and bus access.
